Ok, the truth is that I'm a bit rookie on progressive stuff. What are the essential picks as classic prog records? What are the best prog records with beats and more funky shit?

Sermad gave some delicious bits on his Prog (Why, oh, why)thread and already found the Magic and Dr. Z and now I'd like to find out more greit stuff

Whoa, are you referring to the Dr. Z - three parts of my soul LP?  That's the hardest vertigo record to find, very low numbers pressed and very desirable if in good nick.  If it is, then that is definitely a find.  Other good prog/rock/weird records on Vertigo Recs:

the 1st 4 Black Sabbath LPs
the two Manfred Mann Chapter III LPs
    the two Cressida LPs
    All Ian Carr/Nucleus LPs
Uriah Heep - very 'umble very 'eavy
    Patto - s/t
Affinity - s/t (I need this one, hard to get hold of cheap, trades anyone?)
    Assagai - s/t
    catapilla - s/t
    kraftwerk - s/t
    Colosseum - valentyne suite
    Bob Downes - Electric City
    Aphrodite's child - 666

Another similar-ish record label is the German krautrock label Brain.

I'm a bit of a vertigo nut so I don't have that much variety of prog in my diet is the expert when it comes to all things prog (& its associated hairstyles)

Yeah, those are reissues as Sermad figured out... OG ones might cost a bit, thou I found both Catapillas for cheap couple of month ago.
