The only thing I know of by the Chris Parmenter Orchestra is tht theme he composed for some airline promotional LP released in 1979 and co-composed by David Dundas and John Hawkins - anyone got the lowdown on Chris and 'cul-de-sac', please?A leaping rocker with a strong mood, a moderate beat and a safari feel.

yeah, i've got one of these...it's a 7" on polydor from 1966, cover version of komeda's theme to "cul de sac"....not sure what the going rate is though, i paid a fair bit for mine...don't think it turns up very often but is probably pretty cheap if it does...it was on that crap harkit reissue of cul de sac, wrongly credited as the "orchestral version" (they didn't bother pointing out it wasn't by komeda!

cheers.. makes sense. Â seen it on a list (not particularly cheap but what i'd expect to pay) but the seller appears to have a rather surreal pricing strategy, making it difficult to judge. Â
for example, lots of 80's pop 45s at £50.00 each!! obviously where i've been going wrong, looking for the likes of moody and kpm.  know what to look for now though!! everybody stand back - those 80's 45s are mine at the next booter!

I'm not sure whether Chris Parmenter is a pseudonym, but I have my suspicions he might be.
I'll have to give that Cul-De-Sac CD another listen now........
