So I get home and unwrap my decent, relatively cheap copy of "Across The Tracks" by the Masai and put it on the turntable.
Hmmmmmm. WHY is this rated so highly ? Doesn't seem at all exceptional to me - just another generic "James Brown Production". JB is great, but why is this considered such a killer rarity, when it's musically on a par with much of the JB's stuff ? (And not quite as catchy as "Funky Watergate", either). Personally I think this is one for completists.
Surely there are more unique and unusual records than this to covet and scour the planet for.
