  • Calypso goodness

As well as the Jap organ stuff, I've been listening to a fair bit of calypso stuff I've, for some reason, found in Southport's charity shops. It's all hotel band stuff really but the best thing I've found is a calypso version of 'Do-Re-Mi' on an album by Little Joe and His Calypsonians.

Any other calypso stuff people can recommend?

"Calypso Boogaloo" by Sparrow (RA(?) LP, Trinidad 1968).... an attempt at a calypso boogaloo tune, surprisingly.

"Dr Kitch" by Lord Kitchener (Island 7&quot. For that early 60s, Ladbroke Grove shebeen Profumo scandal vibe.

Also LPs from the early 60s like the exceedingly smutty "Calypso too Hot to Handle" on Monogram...
