• Finders keepers no.2

    Sunday 5th December.
    Cornerhouse, 70 Oxford Street, Manchester.
    All day and FREE ADMISSION!

Another call to arms for all vinyl junkies! On Sunday 5th December, Twisted Nerve's B-Music DJs will team up with vinylvulture.co.uk (the ultimate site for those who measure space and time by vinyl) to bring you an all day session (4pm 'til late), airing possibly the greatest combined record collection you are ever likely to stumble across. Some of the most respected beat diggers and audiophiles from across the nation will go back to back on the ones-and-twos providing a musical smorgasbord of a-thousand-and-one different flavours from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and maybe even the 80s. Expect Folk, Funk, Psych, Jazz, surf, soundtracks, rockabilly... the list has no boundaries.

DJs Sermad, Rich & Matt Hero, Andy & Boney V.O.T.E.L., Dom Thomas, Doug Shipton (Delay 68), Benjamin (Invisible Spies), Belson (Jazzman), Andrew Symington (Divine) and Chris McBride (45 Kings) to name a few will be bringing the cream of the collector's price guide for this very special event.

I'd like to go to this, now I know where me money's coming from! Any lifts going up from London in return for petrol fare etc etc?

How's everyone getting there from the big smoke in general?

      Nick,

I'm driving up from the coast on Sunday AM, so I can do a pick-up at say Didcot Parkway (on the mainline out of Paddington) ? You'd need to find somewhere to crash in Manchester (can't help you there I'm afraid), and I'll be returning on the Monday early PM.

I'm sure a lift from London would be far easier, but the offer is there anyway fella.

Er, yes but I'm staying at my sister's on Saturday night. Otherwise a lift would be no problem. But it could be worth putting the M11/A14/M5 (?) into the RAC site and doing a comparison - it may not be too far off your route to swing by and collect him...

New to this board, but will try to come along. Mister Boney - if you're about you could come over to mine early and check out some cheeky 7s. Same goes for Andrew Sym & any other lurkers on this board that I know.

                cheers, Adam

That's a bit mean, if he's giving you a lift and all?

(Sorry Serms, but we'll never get tired. Er, unless you start enjoying soul... )

Doesn't Serms like the track JT's playing there at any rate?

What, 'You're Doing It With Her...'??? I very much doubt it - Serms?

I seem to remember dancing in a circle around Serms that night, so that he couldn't escape from James' soul onslaught. Â

Of course, being Tetragrammaton, it 'could' be Deep Purple... Â

I visibly start shaking if I get within 20 metres of a 'soul' 45.

Brings me out in a cold sweat too.

Get away from that sterile library shit and embrace your inner soul! Hasn't any of that Kung Fu expanded your mind just a teensey bit?! ha ha!

What kinda tunes are people taking to Manc on Sunday - also, how long does each person's DJing stint last for..? ?

If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.
