  • Millennium / Boettcher odds & ends

For anyone with a taste for Curt's perfect pop, I've posted some little-seen snippets on my blog here:

Must grade overall visually at least as Good minus!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!!)

    Fantastic stuff!

Curt Boettcher seems so mysterious...so hard to find anything out.
"Not only that but the WHOLE COVER is UNCREASED with only 2 or 3 TINY creaselines near the opening edge about half way down!!!! In the same place (about half way down the opening edge), there is an absolutely TINY and PERFECTLY repaired split" (xxxrecords)

Don Gere was one if curts principle songwriters... Meanwhile he did the Werewolves On Wheels soundtrack.

What do you mean by principle songwriter?

Did he co-write some of the stuff from the Elektra album?

yeah, he was the solo composer of 2 or 3 tracks. originally recorded by Don and his wife Stevie but picked up by david gates and then re-recorded by Curt. I have accetates of the orig versions.
in fact Bobby California was actually Don Geres stage name / alter ego.

The Boettcher family have recordings of Curt experimenting with Musique Concrète. They think it unlikely that they'll ever see the light of day, as the raw materials were other artists he recorded from the radio. He also had a Mellotron in his home setup. Whether the two were combined, it's not clear, but WOW anyway! :O
