We were mostly looking for 45s, and I picked up about 100 having looked through about 20,000 or so. Liam got the same, mostly RnB oldies and soul. As you can see one place had loads of Katrina victims - the records themselves were fine, they just needed a thorough cleaning, but unfortunately the labels were mostly beyond repair! Copies of Eunice Davis and The Charms, both on DeLuxe, came out of this lot.
The record shop in Mobile was great, they only opened last year, and as the only used record store in town they're thriving. Nice to see in this day and age.
I can't think of any better thread to put these in...
Last night yours truly and another board member met in a shady pub for a couple of pints and a nip, chat records, life and generally contemplate the world turning.
Vinyl was of course exchanged...
Excuse the crappy phone camera pics...
But what caught me out was the pubs new decor... you might just be able to make out they'd gone to all the effort to make us feel at home by placing framed record sleeves on all the walls. All well and good you'd think, but this one? I made me feel like I was drinking in a charity shop!
Splendid. I'm sure there was an awesome "arm and fist" dildo on display when I was at the York smut 'n'records emporium.
Maybe some lucky Vulture took it home
