You should have seen it in the 70's (actual pic of shop, different location though I think)
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

    • A guy I work with said his dad had an in-car record player. Rather like an in car cassette player from what I can make out. Never actually seen one in the flesh, but they sound horrendous. But that set up you guys have, I like that Did you actually give it a go while driving (sorry, I mean cruisin')?
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

That's just a portable balanced between the front seats isn't it?

        • It's an Ion portable balance on the very wide, cushioned armrest and plugged into the car stereo. And yes, it was in full use on the ride thru Philly.

Oh, and the signs on the door belie my experience of the store. They couldn't have been nicer in the 5 and a bit hours we spent there.

Have a look through these pics and have your mind blown.

Thanks for that link. Mind blown.

btw his first cat is a dead ringer one of ours - Pumpkin. The vet has just relieved us of £700 to get rid of an abcess and do some general dentistry. Pumpkin is now walking around the house again looking very pleased with herself, and I'm thinking a visit to R&B Records has just become a slightly more distant dream.

Younger Val looks like the lovechild of Ron Burgundy and Paul Simon ... or maybe everyone did in those days
