probably a stupid question, but where is that instrumental of 'Girls' from? the b-side of the single? Google isn't very helpful.

otherwise i like the Tina Britt, not heard that before...

I tried to contact Sarge but there seems to be a minor bug in his otherwise impeccable personal home page... So I've gone and registered and made an avatar etc. Anyway, thanks for the traffic. Yes, that Girls one is called "Girls" ... Moments on Stang I think. Jay-Z ripped it off apparently.

Here's a fiercer, funkier mix sans playlist:

Hope you dig. Name 20 of the artists and win a prize. Either a bag of turnips or some CDs, depending on season. I'll give you #4 - The Daktaris. Now tune in and geek out.

Also, Sarge, how do you know my first name when it's not on my website, and I've purposely been trying to cultivate an image of mystery? Assuage me.

        Cheers.

oh i know the original, it's The Moments and The Whatnauts (or maybe the other way around), but it sounds so good without the corny lyrics. Google suggested there were two singles, one with Girls Pt 1/Pt 2, the other with Girls/More Girls. could well be the same and just one UK and one US, but wondered if anyone knew for sure...

Right, checked mine and it's Pt 2 - ST5057. Both Pt 1 & 2 say they are 3:05 so I'll take a leap and say it's the instrumental track..

I know it. When do you play there? Might pop in sometime as I'm in Havemeyer every six weeks or so. Wankersburg ain't as bad as Hoxton mind. I like that Spuyten place on Metropolitan - nice beer.

Cheers to Sarge for leading me over here.

As for the Lucky Cat - on Grand St. opposite Trash, next to "Da Stinger"
This Friday should be a goodun for funk n breaks fans:
DAN DUCE (Sounds of Dynasty/First Nature)
                      PETER GUNN
                      JARED (Sound Library)

plus myself mopping up. and it's been known to have some local uprockers getting busy on the floor, although of course, that's illegal and not condoned by the management.

That image of the huge stereo system throws up an interesting dilemma: In my quest for awesome sound in my lsitening room, am I willing to make half of said room look like the insides of Vin Diesel's bonnet and stare at that chromed nastiness? Where do I put my records, in the glove compartment next door?

Shit is ugly! I'll take the cash prize instead and buy every glass unicorn in every bedroom pic on every Soulstrut thread that ever existed.

My glass unicorn is drivin' an 18 wheeler with a wolf, a bear and an eagle with a lovely quartz clock on its head PLUS! a real waterfall. Fear me now.
