Has anyone played anything off her LP at Brillo yet? Or did it sail past my ears as usual?

If not, someone needs to play something like Sunday Morning etc. I lke that unreleased demo version too. Anyone else a fan of Margo?

    *edit*

I just found this. That snippet of 'Sunday Morning' is lovely stuff. How tricky is it to find the LP, Nick?

Nick, her songs like "Sun" and "Take A Picture" are great Springtime records. Good stuff indeed.

Those prices are scary - and I don't think she's worth it - not when you could get Laura Nyro records for a fraction of the cost. Which is not to say I donlt like her stuff but the one CD for a tenner is enough for me.

Well the Japs love the breathy female vocal stuff after all... To my knowledge she only did one album, Take A Picture, but she worked with loads of people inlcuding Cannonball Adderley. There's a CD of unreleased demos and stuff around, with a version of Sunday Morning that doesn't have the full on production of strings and guitar noodling, which I prefer.

I was just wondering if someone like Mark had brought it along, damn tune's in my head right now...

The lady's got a reissue of the take a picture LP on Siesta on lovely green vinyl - you can still get it on CD it seems:

                  Very pleasant record indeed.

I've had the Siesta reissue of this for a couple of years, and it's a fairly perennial favourite, especially tracks like 'Love' off the LP proper, and a 'bonus' track called something like 'The 8:15 Success Merry Go Round' which is on the CD (not sure about the LP version): both much psychier than the softer, breathier material on the LP (which is also good). Tends to get spun in summer more than during the winter months, though. Guryan studied & worked with lots of others, including people like Ornette Coleman, and I think quite a few people did covers of 'Sunday Morning'...can't remember who they were right now, though, even though I know I've got at least two versions besides Guryan's own...
