really. Damn...not sure if my one has that. Lord knows where I put the lp.

Here are my stab at the lyrics. I couldnt make out a fair few words so had guesses.

      Please correct!

      ...

      (Chorus)

As I sit alone the crystal telephone begins to ring
      Dreamtime coming
      Roaming love birds sing
And the girl with coloured hair is coming home.

      A time for loving

      1st Verse

And theres a flower in the sky...
      But not often...
Inside the ring, concrete fingers bring a threat to a small kingdom.

      A time for leaving.

      (2nd Verse)

And golden is the back of the tiger
      And still softer
      A time for dreaming
And early morning drew is drunk at the nocturnal meeting.

      (Chorus)

As I sit alone the crystal telephone begins to ring
      Dreamtime coming
      Roaming love birds sing
And the girl with coloured hair is coming home.

      A time for questions.

      (3rd Verse)

And the mirror on the wall reflects the shell...
      But not today...
      Ask the ancient 'otel
The reasons why the dreamweaver casts his spell.

      A time for growing

      (4th Verse)

As the minds of the young take wing
      In the asphalt sky
And the flames in my mind
Riding the sky with a question
      The question remains the answer.

      (Chorus)

As I sit alone the crystal telephone begins to ring
      Dreamtime coming
      Roaming love birds sing
And the girl with coloured hair is coming home

      A time for loving
      A time for leaving
      A time for questions
      A time for growing

      A time for loving
      A time for leaving...

"And the girl with culled hair is coming home"

So, you're definitely sure there are you ? Culled ?

Y'see I would have gone with coloured as more likely, but hey you listened to the song

No insert in my copy - lyrics or otherwise. Still, the LP is much loved regardless.

Having gone back and listened to it, I now can't make up my mind if it's "No time for..." or "A time for..." as you say, Serms. I always thought it was "No..." but I'm completely thrown now.

And I always thought it was "coloured hair" - I had a picture in my head of someone with that sort of henna colour hair for some reason...

          So...

As I sit alone the crystal telephone begins to ring
          Dreamtime coming
          Roaming love birds sing
And the girl with coloured hair is coming home.

          No time for loving

          No time for leaving.

          (2nd Verse)

And golden is the back of the tiger
          And still softer
          A time for dreaming
And early morning dew is drunk at the nocturnal meeting.

          (Chorus)

As I sit alone the crystal telephone begins to ring
          Dreamtime coming
          Roaming love birds sing
And the girl with coloured hair is coming home.

          No time for questions.

          (3rd Verse)

And the mirror on the wall reflects the shell...
          But not today...
          Ask the ancient Votel
The reasons why the dreamweaver casts his spell.

          No time for growing

          (4th Verse)

As the minds of the young take wing

It sounds like 'cull' sometimes. Then 'culled' and now you mention it...it could be 'coloured'. But like 'colour'd' ?

Im really thrown on the 'A time for loving...' or 'No time for loving...' parts.

Sometimes it sounds 'A' then sometimes it sounds not...! Thats kind of an important word too as it changes the meaning of the song! Arrrrgh.

I wonder if my durham is still alive? Would love to check out his paintings.

              IMO:

It's definitely "coloured hair", and it's definitely "A time for loving".

But then you are the birthday boy kidda, so maybe we can all agree to change the lyrics to your version for today..
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

I was wondering too, if Terry Durham could maybe throw some light on the subject. I'm now completely confused too.

Still, it's made me go back and listen to the LP again.

Perhaps the answer to this quandary is in the lyrics!

Defintely coloured, you have to take into account his accent! I mean, his lyrics are out there, but what woman goes around culling her hair? Hmmm, plenty of them I guess!

Anyhow, it's coloured and it's deffo A Time For...

Saw an auction recently that mentioned that Terry was involved with the Nite People. Any truth to this (Mr Wolfe?)???
