Well the ehads up on Chez Youri in paris was clearly on the money. A fine place though I only bought a few items frim the five bin. I reckon I will save my funk sheckels for when I go stateside to a mates' wedding in a couple of months. And anyway I was going to Clingancourt the next day which did some damage. Haven't fnished the list yet though.

But anyway I'm going to Berlin for my brother's stag do in a month and so was wondering where to check out. I'll arrive a day or two in advance of the wrecking crew so can check out some digging sites before the madness begins.

most of the good shops are, as in all big cities, pretty expensive. best places to go are the large outdoor flea markets. there's a good big one at tiergarten. we also had luck at a small one near Ostbahnhof (old east station).

There are plenty of flea markets in Berlin. If I can figure out where the one I visited was I shall post it up. It was on a Sunday morning, by the road, near one of the gates to the central park (jeez, I'm useless with names). Plenty of vinyl, including one seller with loads of Polish, gear. Not all one euro but good prices. I didn't have so much luck with the shops (again, if I can figure out which they were I'll post up a list of those you needn't bother with). It's a fantastic city, but watch out for the dogshit!

Well I am just back from Paris with clean shoes. I had heard that the flea markets were the place to go but I wodner are any open on thursday as Sunday morning will probably see us wandering out of somewhere like Tresor in a state of shellshock.

The guy who is organising it sees it as an opportunity to pay my brother back for the horror of his own Stag do which was organised by...my brother.

Do you reckon I'll get away with saying at 2am "sorry lads gotta go get an early night as I need to get up and look for records"?

Bugger, it seems like everyone's been to paris recently so it's bound to be dry when I go this weekend. On a positive note though I've just found out that a friend of my girlfriend who is the PA for Vivienne Westwood is in Paris for two weeks for some fashion shows and she's got us on the guest list for a couple of models parties!!!!!

I was in Paris for the last week also, I hit clignacourt on saturday and sunday. I got some nice 45s off this dude who was selling records and porn mags and was fond of yelling "no money no honey" to people who just came to look at the porn. I picked up a bit of stuff from Chez Youri and Disco Puces, but spent a lot of time just drinking and hanging out.

Is this the fat guy who is fond of calling everybody "my darlings"? Fat as a hatstand but some decent records in there.

That is indeed the same bloke, he was actually really nice, he shook my hand upon realising that I was Australian (my french accent is that terrible), and made me a few cups of coffee and let me smoke while I looked through his records.

My best find in Berlin during my visits is a Black Rock - "black rock yeah yeah" 45 for a few euros...

There's a shop called Pedro's Platten, Pedro's Schallplatten (spelling!?) or something which has probably the biggest stock in Berlin from what I heard at least. Don't know if it's true though. The store is kinda hard to dig in as everything is stacked on shelves all the way up tp the ceiling. He has a jazz section out in the back but it was completely picked over when I was there. However I found a blaxplotation OST there but forgot which one. Could be worth a try.

Never had much luck at the fleas in Berlin but it seems like UK guys have an odd taste...

                        Good luck,

There's two different Volume 16's. Mine's on RCA (and I think this may be the one Mark's just bagged) with green circles on a blue background for the cover. This isn't the sought after one but, personally, I like it.
