  • Hammond Gold 'Catch Em All' Competition.

As long standing forum members will recall, I set some stupid challenge to try and see who could find the most copies of that SGA classic 'Duke Grant plays Hammond Gold' during 2004.

Naturally, as I set the challenge, I failed to find a single copy all year.

LDJB, our current leader did not find this a real challenge at all. Personally, I think he has issues......

But Lee, bless you, I owe you a beer for your efforts.

Come on then Mr Divine, show us your wares !

They look quite nice all lined up like that - I wonder if official figures of how many copies were sold exist anywhere?

I found they started turning up once everyone had given up on the competition - it's like they came out of hiding once the coast was clear!

i don't that the competition was started at the beginning of 2004, it was about Easter time. i think i'd found 3 or 4 in the year up to that point, and after the competition was announced - nothing!

I have to come clean and tell you that it's actually a combined Scottish entry - Andrew gave me his pile to add to the 15 or so I had turned up. I found most of them here in Edinburgh but a few came from South of the border and 4 in Aberdeen on one day!

The really weird thing is they are all (with one exception) mint! Why is that?? Surely a quick blast of 'Go' would get any party started!

Not seen one for ages now come to think of it.

Thanks for sorting the electrickery Matt.

But what to do with all those copies now? And is there going to be a similarly themed challenge for this year?

how about stuffing all those hammond golds down that cannon and when we come up to scotland we see them all get blown up?

                      sounds like a plan stan!

Because you've all already got a copy

Colin Hero is kindly arranging some freebies to give away on the night to whatever public turns up.
