Very sad, but not entirely unexpected -she had been stricken with MS for the last 20 years or so.

Her album Rags is a multi-layered masterpiece that is simultaneously a modern (well,1980 at any rate) re-casting of Victorian industrial broadside ballads, a piece of feminist social history, a soundtrack (to a documentary on the conditions in 19th Century garment sweatshops), a critique of the practices of soundtracks and a teriffic record in its own right with playing from Fred Frith, Chris Cutler & Lindsay herself on bassoon, oboe, flute, piano & soprano sax & singing by Phil Minton & Sally Potter.
Gosh, golly that was a weird one. Have I got time to go and take some more acid?

She was, but didn't join until after the First Utterance. She is on the less than essential To Keep From Crying, though.

Agreed sad news indeed... Scored Rags (Arc Records) last year - fantastic record...
