  • Dirty Harry Soundtrack variants (School Bus)

There is a version of the school bus track from Dirty Harry that has fewer strings and stuff, just seems to go by the name alternate take - does anyone know if it ever came out on vinyl?

    CD only I think...

Just checked the track listings for both:-

    ... and

... that both came out on vinyl, but that track is not included.
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

Thanks guys, I couldn't find it listed anywhere on vinyl but wondered if it might have crept out on a comp somewhere that I missed. Reckon it probably didn't though if none of you can find it anywhere. Maybe time to press up a moody one...

Then again it needs to be a bit longer too so why not a re-edit while whoever is doing that is at it?

yeah perhaps og one side and a longer edit on side b. perhps with a little upping of the tempo and bringing the drums a bit more forwards in the mix. i'd bite.

Aleph is Lalo's own record label. That alt 'School Bus' has been a fave of mine for comps for a while. The CD has a slightly different version of 'Scorpio's View' to the others I've picked up. There's also a nice vocal out take where the haunting voice lady misses her cue and apologises. It's a good CD, mastering is ok, if not outstanding.

But there's no vinyl version of the track?

There's a handful of tracks tagged on the end (of which the alt take of 'School Bus' is the biggie) that I've never seen anywhere but on this CD.

Though I'm sure others here have looked longer and harder than I.

                              It's on Spotify.
