  • Daphne Oram - Tape Vol One vinyl - sleeve notes ?

My copy has no other sleeve notes that a basic tracklisting on the back.

Did the vinyl version have any sort of booklet ? It seems the CD issue has a massive fold out overview of her career and detailed notes on the tracks.

This isn't a definitive answer to your question, but I seem to remember a tweet from Bob Stanley when it came out on vinyl which said - and I quote from memory - 'Great packaging but no sleeve notes - bloody art school students!' Apologies to all involved in the release etc, but it seemed a reasonable point to make.

So I think we have to assume the vinyl version had no extra info.

Well it's probably not a definitive answer but a quick butchers at the images on discogs show extensive notes with the CD version and just sleeve phots for the vinyl. If you check Boomkat it shows the same- CD digipak with notes, vinyl sleeve with images only.

Thanks folks - guess I'll have to pick up a copy of the CD then.

I can scan you the booklet if you like? I'm quite happy to buy Radiophonic style records on CD, it seems the right format somehow.

I'm a tight fisted Scotsman, I'd drop the label an email and ask them to send you a CD booklet since there's no notes with the, presumably, far more expensive vinyl version. They might then get the hint for future releases...

I have the CD - two pages of notes either side of the gatefold sleeve. If you want an exhaustive essay, you'll have to do yer own!
