  • Testfying! Live interactive playlist...

might be the sunshine, might be the end of the week, might be the medication, but I am rinse-and-repeat listening to Chico Hamilton, Don Wilkerson, Grant Green and all sorts of stuff.

so, here's three to get us started, Don Wilkerson: Dem Tambourines

    Gregory Porter: Liquid Spirit

    Grant Green: Cantalopue Woman:

please add on, wherever the inspiration might take you... don't have to be jazz, but you know you want it to be...

I love Gregory Porter but someone should tell him his hat is really stupid

How about this from Harry Belafonte - as appearing in Medlar's rather great swap cd

"Record collecting is no mere hobby, no innocuous leisurely diversion. It is a feverish passion bordering on dementia, driving those under the influence to irrational, compulsive, fanatical extremes."

A new one on me (well known in these parts I should imagine), but what a tune...

I have to get me a copy of this.... Apart from Grass Roots, what else do I need?

                    Lovely stuff, Babycart.

This thread will keep going as long as people post in it.

                    Here's another addition:

Three from me. Gospel by March Fourth Marching Band

Extra Curricular's Robbin Hood - kind of throwaway funky pop but all the better for it.

and KRS One's Mcs Act Like They Don't Know - perhaps because the use of the Clifford Brown sample is round about perfect but more likely because my son and I chuckle at the line "I'll show you who's ass is the blackest!"
I know your game Lionel! I can see what you really are!
