Here's a link to an Elvis mix I did trying to focus on some of his more funky/danceable moments
There is more and I'm very slowly amassing stuff for a volume II - but movement is very slow!

Great mix that. Here's a fave on 7:

Great suggestions so far. Please be aware that this thread will shortly be hijacked by posts claiming that Elvis was a racist or that his epoch making career was totally pointless apart from some obscure b-side with a vaguely funky bass line. I think he's one of the most interesting people who ever lived for all sorts of reasons. Here's an Elvis track I really like.

I think we've had an Elvis thread, no?

Anyway - I reprise this electric sitar funk groove:

"Only one thought left, that makes me come alive,
and that is you and me side by side, on the licorice ride"

Yes, this track and anything else from the 'The Memphis Record' and anything else by Elvis.

One of my all time favourites by Elvis - shame they took the female vocal off the OST version.

For some reason the inexplicably highly regarded Pilooski "edit" of this track gets me very riled whereas I didn't mind that JXL remix of "A Little Less Conversation". I think it's just that I suspect that if Fatboy Slim had been responsible for it then everyone would have slagged it.

some great suggestions and yes its probably gonna get hijacked sooner or later. That bit aboot other rock n roll was tagged on at last minute. I though why not especially as I was thinking of this at the time :

At the risk of boring people I love this first, incredibly sparse, slow take of 'Pocketful of Rainbows' version 1. They evidently didn't like it because it breaks down at the chorus, unfortunately. Perhaps they thought it was simply too slow but it really shows off his voice to good effect and I keep going back to this elusive fragment.

Does Hasil Adkins count or should he be in the insane outsider onemanband thread?
