  • 'Fantastic Man' A Film About William Onyeabor

Went on-line this afternoon... officially... I thought I was going to have to wait months for screening...

There is a write up over here http://www.alldayeveryday.com/articles/fantasic-man

Just finished that. Brilliant! Thanks for posting, I'd seen about a Q&A thing for a premier but it was ages away.

Definitely going to watch that before the gig at Barbican:

Atomic Bomb - Who is William Onyeabor? on April 1st (no joke!)
Featuring Damon Albarn, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Kele Okereke (Bloc Party), Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem), Sinkane, Money Mark and more

      Anyone else going?

Yep, and some Biafran War footage I'd not seen, to boot.

            Thanks for the link, J

Enjoyed that esp the scenes in the record shack/shop. That house was pretty amazing too, so he must have been doing something right! Not a bad flick considering there was "nothing" to go on. Thanks for the post.

Yeah, what that man said. Really enjoyed this...
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

This gig was amazing... Incredible atmosphere, and fine versions of all the key tracks with the impressive Ahmed Galleb leading the band, supported enthusiastically by Money Mark. I can't recommend the Bristol gig tomorrow at the Colston enough, if there are still tickets - it'll be a bomb (atomic one of course)!
