  • Gene Clark Documentary Tonight

Didn't know whether this should be in a NRR thread, but the Venn diagram of TV and Music overlaps to show BBC Four coming up with some 'Strength of Strings' action tonight:

Great program, I think I mentioned this before but 'Caught By The River' compiled an interesting booklet a few years ago 'Remembering Gene Clark', you can read it all here. http://www.caughtbytheriver.net/reme...e-clark-issuu/

Really good doc - I knew next to nothing about him before that.

Brilliant! Just finished watching this as I was away over the weekend. I knew the arc of his story but none of the details. That black and white footage of him doing Silver Raven is just fantastic. I'd somehow never realised Leland Sklar played bass on No Other, that dude is by far my favourite looking bass player around. I do sometimes wish No Other didn't have the gospel backing on some of the songs but who am I, the album is undeniably perfect.

Here's some interview footage of Gene which I saw linked somewhere, lots of interesting insights.
