  • Rum/booze related grooves

I'm playing a tiki bar next Thursday nite. Suggest rum/booze releted grooves besides the obvious WW2 era Rum and cola and Hawaiian war chant please.

A place where Americans once could dream about foreign cultures in a pleasant non-threatening way with exotic food, cocktails and furnishing. The bar equivalent to exotica music. Very popular during the cold war in the 50s when Americans seemed to long for "foreign customs" that weren't hostile.

Today I guess they still have some popularity more for nostalgic and novelty purposes even though my only visit to one had a fantastic relaxing atmosphere and cocktails to die for. So there's probably a bit of quality to, that makes them retain their popularity in a totally different time.

How about: One bourbon, one scotch, one beer - George Thorogood.

Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Cugi's Cocktails is a good 'un - booze themed to the core, but instrumental... are you looking for boozy songs specifically?

Wilburt Harrison - Gin and Coconut Milk

The Meadow Larks - Pass The Gin

End of night venue evacuation tune

Top dancehall which mentions rum, but only to express preference for ganja. Also: General Echo - Drunken Master. Sugar Minott - Buy Off the Bar

Best party record ever. Mentions whisky, but only to express preference for coca-cola

Cumbia and Rum. Also try the classic Tabaco y Ron by Rodolfo and about 20 other bands.

                            Vardy.....¡¡¡PELIGRO!!!

If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.
