    Hi Vultures.

I will be acquring some library lp's in the next few weeks. They are on the Tanner Library label. Can anyone give some info on this company? I have never heard of them.

    Cheers,
    David
    God bless Fatso.

Not much, but they're American, and I think they also did radio jingles as well.

I've only got one LP by them, a 'Contemporary Christmas' one, and it's quite entertaining in an early-80s disco orchestral kind of way. Saw a whole load of their LPs in a shop recently, but they were slightly too expensive to buy in bulk, and I knew if I bought one I'd want to buy them all, so I left the lot (what an eejit!)

They don't seem to like crediting their composers, though......

Thanks for the info Lord Thames. I am having them sent down from a radio station in NSW. I let you know what the rest are like.

      Cheers,

Tanner (William Tanner) owned at least two different library imprints (Sounds Of Broadcasting and Showcase) in the u.s. throughout the 70s and i dare say 80s too...musically the catalogue varies from rubbish to tops........i know there are some killers on both of the above imprints.

Just to resurrect a very old thread ... I picked up a couple of the S.O.B. Tanners (#6014 & #6016) the other day. All very short pieces but some most interesting sounds. Fair bit of fuzz & wah-wah, too.

I wonder whose bright idea it wa sto have S.O.B. in big letters on the front?
