  • Phase 6 Super Stereo ‎

Is it worth checking out a lot of releases on Phase 6? I'm quite partial to funky jazzed out screen theme music with psychedelic tinges, my mate got the comp that was released in 1997 on Plastic, I was wondering if most of the releases were the kind that feature 1 or 2 gems and the rest of the music being filler.

A met bought a couple of them after hearing that comp and we deduced it's not woth buying them without researching which ones are good beforehand. Some were crappy all through, others were onetrackers etc.

The labels is a bit hit and miss in my experience, when it hits the spot though, it hits the spot!

They do a decent version of ''Pusher man" (Superfly) on here -

This one has a couple of decent track, including a great version of 'I'm a man" -

As well as the above press it also came out as -

I'm seem to remember this on has a good track on it -

I usually pick them up if I see them in the wild as the have great covers...

I've also got this one which didn't really leave an impression on me -

      http://www.discogs.com/Orchestre-Pet...elease/3214733

I've got another one somewhere, it's not jumping out at me on Discogs, I'll try and dig it out as it's got a great track on it.

I was looking for one of these when I went to Italy but didn't get a sniff of it:
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

                .
Caravan´s the stand-out (David Holmes chose it for Soderbergh in Oceans 13) , but I really like Quiet Samba, and there´s a decent stab at Night Train, too.
