  • Bob Hoskins

Just seen that Bob Hoskins died. Here's the Alan Hawkshaw theme tune from the mid-seventies TV programme I first saw him in (possibly not Alan's finest work although I can still instantly bring the tune to mind nearly 40 years on)

Always really liked how he suddenly jumped from doing this to being a massive - and unlikely - film star.

          RIP Bob.

If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

              RIP Bob.
I'll never forget the impression that "Pennies from Heaven" had on me. Broadcast in 1978, a time of punk excess, there's this TV series written by the supreme Dennis Potter starring a young Bob Hoskins, with music from the 30's! Absolute magic!!

the Steve Martin film version in the eighties(?) totally missed the point.

Agreed - have only seen the Steve Martin version once but it left little impression.
