the Trinidad Oil Company, although i wish i had a time machine to go back and give the singer the lyrics, so he wouldn't keep repeating the same verse over and over...

      5th Dimension is nice
      Joe Cocker's version is boss

But the Traffic/Dave Mason version is the best by a mini mile, mellow as fu*k, love the lyrics & the LP it came from is top class too!!

Mother's Finest. It rocks. Goes all proper gospel at the end. Gets me all halleluja.
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

I did start writing an article on this very subject for the main site - I'll dig it out.

Do. And then finish it off.

John Goodman did an alright version on "Muppets Tonight", which I quite enjoyed!
                  Don't call it a comeback... H, N, and the number 7.
                  Ok, it's a bit of a comeback, I suppose...

I rate Wade Marcus' version on his 'A New Era' LP.

A highly recommended LP that actually.

Must listen to it again soon.

Assuming you are talking about the same song, the West Coast Revival version is unbeleivable. pitch shift for playing out though.
