  • Antonio Carlos & Jocafi

I've just remembered a track that i last heard during the 92 (?) world cup final.

It's Simbarere off the Antonio Carlos & Jocafi - Cada Segundo LP.

now, it is on ebay with a warp, although the two great tracks apparently play OK.
does anyone here know what a decent price would be?
    i like things cheap

    Hello Mr Gomez,

    "Simbarere" is a nice track.

I would say £ 20 - £ 25 for the LP from a UK based dealer, and roughly $15 - $20 Ebay. These prices would be for Ex copies.

Of course, if you look hard enough, or are lucky, is not uncommon to pick it up for under $10.

Use to go for about £40-50 in the early 90s, nowadays worth about £25-30 with UK/European dealers. If you buy from a Brazilian seller add on £5-6 for postage costs, also take care on gradings! There VG+ is often only a VG to VG - by UK grading standards. I have often found even radio promo copies are full of scratches and clicks (they generally don't take care of records very well in S. America).

the tilt of the head, the pleading look in the eyes, the fullness of the beard...
            its an amazing portrait.
and he looks like an old art teacher of mine.

            and an interesting story.
i shall educate myself on him this pm.

Personally, I feel he captures the essence of hip-hop in his portrait pose.

Regards tdlt02s post, he quite right about gradings. Something to be careful of when buying direct from Brazil.

                thanks for the advice guys,
now if i can just trace the other tracks that made up the 4 hour mammoth radio session that was broadcast during the Brazil/Italy final i'll be a happy bunny.
