  • HELP WANTED! The "Accents of the British Isles" LP's

Does anyone have to hand one of those Accents of the British Isles LPs that they might be able to burn MP3s of?
If so, please please please PM me asap.
Crazy favour to ask, I realise, but I desperately need burns of a few bits and pieces.
Thought I had a couple here, but can't seem to find the bloody things.
    Cheers
    To infinity - and beyond!

Pretty sure Eine posted a link to a database of dialect speech samples a while back. Can't remember if it was here or on his fb page, but I think I have the link in my office somewhere (as well as an LP called "English with an Accent") but I won't be in again until Tuesday.

The BBC Voices page looks great, but I´m not sure if the links are dead or I´m just barred for being foreign.

I recently finished a course on accents (or phonetic and phonological variations of English) and we used Trudgill and Hannah´s International English book as a set text. Plenty of audio for that, although it doesn´t focus on regional dialects, just RP, Scottish,Welsh and N and S Irish.
The Scottish accent is unique and amazingly simple.

Were the German recordings of POW from WW1 ever released? I remember seeing the prog/article online many moons ago with the librarian and the tuning fork.
If you didn't see it it takes a lot of explaining. But they had a huge collection all on 78's.
