  • New record shop in LDN

Some pals of mine have opened a new store in the East End (Pearson Street, behind the Geffrye Museum). It's called Love Vinyl. Some of the people behind it, you might know (Jake Holloway and Zaf, who ran Reckless for many years). If you're in the area go and support. They're selling new stuff and second hand.

    Nice write up here:

I popped along on the opening day and good stock (though the new release section seemed to be in its early stages) but the main thing that struck me was the friendly/helpful staff especially as it was busy even a little on the hectic side that still took the time to be friendly.
Now with Love Vinyl and Kristina both on that side of town there's more of an inventive for daytrippers like myself to head out that way.

Don't forget Eldica - always has good 2nd hand stock, especially soul and reggae. Will pop over at some point & check out the new shop

Flashback and Haggle are not far away at all, either. Quick trip on the 38 bus from Dalston Junction will put you on Essex Road. A little bit far to walk but it's a 15 trip on a bus.

I believe we may have discussed these very emporia on Friday evening, Daniel. Did we agree on "Hillary"? or hilarity?

On a slightly related note, I popped into the West London Rough Trade over the weekend and thought they had some pretty decent stuff for OK pricing considering it was 'that London' e.g.

                  Mandingo - Sacrifice £5
                  Robinson Wall Project EP £5
                  Emphasis on Jaycee £30
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

I popped in to this new record shop today. Picked up a few bits in their second hand jazz section. Mainly house/dance in there at the mo but looking to expand into everything. Good luck to them.
