  • South African 78's..?? Did I make a crass mistake?

    passed on a couple of 78,s from south Africa,seems they are quite rare? oops,one had a small chip,the other was ok..

    frank nkabane-flute jive on hit records

    the other was spokes and lemmy,s jive party part 1 I think,cant remember the label o dear

    Don't know about those particular tunes, but African 78s in general seem to attract money. My Australian friend buys Calypso & High Life 78s, and they are normally pretty worn out (when he finds them that is!). He told me to watch out for the Yellow Decca label African 78s.
    Greg in Foxton used to have a box of African 78s a few years back, cheapest were £30 touches. Didn't see them last time I was over, the fashionistas have obviously caught on!

      Lemmy had lots of records issued here on all sorts of formats so i doubt there is any loss there.
      Chimptown, now twinned with Cockermouth, Penistone and Big Beaver, Pennsylvania..

        went back to the charity shop,and they were still there,bought the frank nkabane 78,still cant find any info on the artist tho
