  • Yorkshire lad, makes good.

Barry Ryan. He wrote/recorded "Eloise". It was recorded by The Damned. He is famous for that but did you know that Ryan has been married to Tunku (Princess) Miriam binti al-Marhum Sultan Sir Ibrahim (born 1950), the only child of Sultan Ibrahim of Johor and his fourth wife, Sultana Marcella (née Marcella Mendl, 1915–1982)? They married in 1978 and divorced in 1980, they had no children.

Didn't know that. How bizarre! What I do know is that he recorded some fine 45s with his brother Paul, worth investigating if 60s bangers are your thing.
Fancy being married to a sultana What a wonderful world
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Weird I was literally just reading about the Barry Ryan Sings Paul Ryan album before I clicked on VG+. Can anyone recommend it?

          I truly cannot believe this.

          Sultanas Jar

Has anyone here ever bought a sultana jar form this seller before? Note the small print 'hairline crack' comment.
I'm going to Spam him until he removes it.
          Rant over.

Don;t know what you mean? Did you want to discuss sultanas? Anyway, I also find this information quite bizzare. I wonder how a guy like Barry got to meet such a woman, in the first place? <scratches head>

Quite sad to see that their currant status is divorced.

Maybe he was trying to prune his collection.

Maybe she confused him with John Barry, t'other famous yorkshire music man who she mistook in turn for a real life james bond

Whatever the circumstances, it was a short lived liaison. I expect they met at one of Christopher Biggins' legendary parties.

I wanted to insert a dried fruit based pun here, but I'm afraid I'm all out of juice.
