This Capricorn Records sampler album might be a good place to start?:

it features Grinderswitch's 'Pickin' The Blues'

Or am I still on the well beaten path?

Certainly the right area but still fairly well frequented.

How about Tobias Wood Henderson? Funky southern rock, if that fits the bill... two or three other solid tracks on the LP if memory serves

Nice, I have the TWH 45 of that tune - always wondered if there were other goodun's on the LP

OK, if we're getting funky, how's about some 'Funky Sounds Nurtured In The Fertile Soil Of Memphis That Smells Of Rock'? - with an extended Steve Cropper guitar workout.....

              or this?

It's pretty good - includes a longer version of Color-Blind Man, as per the youtube link (extra verse I think). Nothing else on youtube but I put 'Price of Love' on a swap CD 4-5 years ago.

I'm with Tom, the LP's not just a one tracker, several nice tracks on there, 'Color blind man' is not the highlight either!

I know Fuz is a big fan of the LP.

And don't forget the Girls (Mother Station)

Good call on the Wet Willie

Swapped this album donkeys years ago, used to quite like it. So did Tommy Vance

Bit of a swerveball but a cheap Aretha Franklin 45 featuring the guitar of Duane Allman doing a version of The Weight hits the spot for me
