  • One for the 90s comp crowd

Anyone know what the fantastic harpsichord library/funk track is on this comp?

Its called The Detective by The Private's Eye on the sleeve but i imagine it's not really called that.

Without a soundclip I guess those of us without the comp will struggle. I'll still have a guess and say it was taken from a Themes library album or John Gregory's "The Detectives" album.

... or it is Hall & Oates.
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

It's a Standard Music library track by Denis King from ESL 118 - not sure of the title, but my sources tell me it's either Mr Beratta or Tatty Rag. Used as a link track between programmes on BBC 1 in the early 80s.
