  • Let it Rock

I was in a vintage shop with the missus this afternoon and noticed a wee pile of Let it Record mags from '72 onwards. I thought they were a bit steep at £4 each so I just bought issue number 1....because it was issue number 1. Anyway here's some pics I took of stuff that caught my eye.

Lee? If there's any chance of going back there I can PayPal you for that issue with the 'Playback: How The Record Industry Blew the Tape Revolution' article. (Study related)

Of if you could PM me the name / whereabouts / telephone number of the shop?

(And I can see it's page 65....that's useful for locating it!)

Ian. I can go back in the xmas hols and we if I can nab it. From what I saw there's an 'industry article' in each issue.

£4 each is probably not too bad if you were actually looking for them. Used to see them about quite frequently, but thinking about it, until the initial post, I haven't seen one for years!
I would have picked up the 1st issue too.....for the same reason
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Oh Lordy! Keep me posted please?

Distribution / format transition / piracy (obviously)....all useful, and less obvious sources like this are fantastic! I'd be happy to make the owner an offer to take the lot.

I would have also picked up the last two or three issues.

Rarity- related: Usually ots of interest and a large print run for the launch and promotion to give the project legs, but interest wanes as a series runs and the pressing runs get less and less.

Ha! I bought issue number 1 when it came out ... Possibly because it had Bowie on the cover and an article on the man, too. Still got it, but declined to buy further issues - I probably stuck with NME and Sounds
OK: ready; let's do it ...

Amazing stuff, love that 'Mandingo' ad.

Recently bought a copy of films & filming from the early seventies and that contained a few adverts for UK soundtrack import specialists - will certainly be following those leads up, once I get my wonky flux capacitor sorted out.
