Poor John. I like this. I notice the LP only rates 2.5/5 on discogs, and mine is a bit bacon and eggs in places but I still love it and it seems appropriate

Shit! Was only listening to an interview with him and Wizz on the radio on Mothers Day, taking my mum out for the day. They both sounded in great spirits, and looking forward to playing together. I was actually hoping to catch them live together in the near future. He came across as a real nice person, and his love of (guitar) music oozed out of the radio. I think working with Wizz recently had re-awakened a passion within him, the two were bouncing off each other. Bloody shame that.
An obvious choice, but this was my introduction to him, and a flickering light from quite a long time ago shines brightly every time I hear it, as I'm sure it does for many people. RIP indeed

Oh my, that's knocked me for six, was only listening to him the other day. A massive, massive talent who completely floored me when I first heard him play, a virtuoso if ever there was one.

I watched this vid recently amazing to be able to see how fluid his technique is close up and love the ping pong ball trick:

                      Dammit.

Wonderful unique musician. I go back to his first 5 solo albums a hell of a lot, plus his KPM LP.

Was lucky enough to see him at the Half Moon in Putney a few years back with Robin Williamson.

Sad news, he was on the radio the other day with Wizz Jones, an interesting listen (starts about 1 hour 4 minutes). In the early 90's I watched him at Glastonbury playing with Robin Williamson, spellbinding stuff.
