  • Technical Question From An Idiot

I bought a new pc. It doesn't have any phono connections, just loads of USB and HDMI ones. So, what do I need to hook up my amplifier to the pc so I can record stuff, is it as straightforward as just getting some phono cables that end in a usb, or is there something more elaborate / better required?

Please note, this may well be a stupid question because, when it comes to stuff like this, I'm a stupid person. Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought a cheap external line in (which I was thinking of upgrading). How does the RCAs & headphone jack system work? Does it record in stereo? (I'm also fairly idiotic when it comes to techy stuff)
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Erm, to record from the amp to the PC?

                    I have Numark's little baby.

It's got a ground so a deck can go straight in if necessary.

I've been using a Behringer with good experience for a few years now.

Can vouch for one of those behringer interfaces. Cheap as chips, easy plug and play and rock solid performance. I used one for a few years when I travelled around a lot and needed a decent external for recording with a laptop, great little things.
