So sometimes you hear a track and think to yourself it must be a version of another only to discover they claim to be done independently to each other. So come on lets post some up for shits and giggles

John Williams vs. Just About Every early 20th Century classical Composer

"Record collecting is no mere hobby, no innocuous leisurely diversion. It is a feverish passion bordering on dementia, driving those under the influence to irrational, compulsive, fanatical extremes."

That John Williams video reminds me of Kit and The Widow's dissection of Andrew Lloyd Webber

I think the latest high-ish profile similarity is this one.

The strange thing is, the band were also signed to Geffen. It's certainly more Sweet Child than say Sympathy for the Devil.
Oh.. they also did this intro to another song. There's bound to be loads of similar intro's. Only so many chords in the world etc.

I don't know much but listening to Mahler's 8th Symphony my ears definitely clocked a bunch of chords mightily similar to the Star Wars main theme AND another bunch of chords mightily similar to the Schindler's List main theme.

To be fair, he was told to "channel" Tiomkin by Leone. I heard the Walter Schumann piece years ago (Schumann did Night of the Hunter, and Nikki is from an lp of worldless vocals) and it immediately struck me as very Morriconesque - even though its a different tune.

I found this blog last night. Well worth reading the pieces on the Leone westerns, and the whole blog is fascinating.

Credit where due, Mrs Treeboy flagged this up. Watching the news clip of Eurovision this morning, she spotted it straight away. The blatant rip off, and possibly the reason we didn't win. We should have stuck the original in

Looking on Youtube, we weren't the only ones to spot it!!
Turns out the person who wrote the Electro Velvet tune has also worked on "advertising jingles" You couldn't make it up
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all
