  • Help needed from psych/-funk/-soul/-rock and rare groove fans - IDs from mixtape

    Cheers lads and ladies,

Ive been dazzled for some months now by this really well put together mixtape "7 Steps to Better Listening Part 2" by two German crate digging fanatics called Sebo Sellout and Flow One, cutting/mixing/splicing together psych/funk/soul breaks, beats and samples with many bizarre/obscure movie vocal cuts.

A while back it got reposted on the Jakarta Records Soundcloud, a really good German label and I immediately had it on repeat. Since I come more from the Hip-Hop/Soul/Jazz-side of things and am still rather novice in my, lets stay, "historical" digging collection (especially when it comes to the psych-rock/-folk/-soul department covered in this mix), I couldnt detect anything from this mix yet, but the more I listen to it the more I want to get into these genres and I kind of figured I want the music in the mix to get things kicked off.

    Find the mix here: https://soundcloud.com/jakarta-recor...istening-pt2-1

Download link is in the comment section.

I stumbled upon a thread on fourmusic.co.uk (unfortunately very deserted by now, but heres the reference: http://www.forumusic.co.uk/forum/sho...an-funk/page3&) looking for track info on the second volume of the "7 steps to better listening" mixtape by Sebo Sellout and FlowOne, where an extensive thread had already ID'd a lot of tracks from the first part of "7 Steps to better listening".

As Ive seen some familiar names of people both in fourmusic and here at VG+ ( shououts to Ian Townsend at this point), I am hoping that some of you can help me out here!

Keep it spinning and thanks in advance for your help!

it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

This has to be on every german breakbeat mixtape by law for some reason. Bureaucrats.

Argh, the flute bit at 17'36" I know very well, and I'm sure I've got the original track.....it'll come to me in a bit, I'm sure.

20'07"-21'21": drums are the intro from 'Psychedelic Portrait' by Jack Arel and Jean-Claude Petit

                    14.00mins is this -

29.25mins is bugging me as I know it, it's been sampled as well which is making it worse!

The version of 'Love theme from the Godfather' @6.45 is also doing my head in as I know it, Japanese I think?!

Pretty sure 2.22mins is San Il Lim, maybe their 4th one, as I ain't got that one...

Found this beauty, one that I especially liked. At around 6.05. Gotta love the little flute stabs.

Another one is another 45 gem at around 15.20:

Got it - it's from 'It's Too Late Now' by Roger Webb from the De Wolfe LP 'Moments'.
