I just saw it - so sad to see still active musicians pass away. Don't think I've heard anything he was involved in that I didn't like. May he rest in peace.

Made sometimes deceptively simple-sounding music but demanded repeated listening which was always rewarded.
I have a lot of his more recent albums (as well as the acknowledged classics from the 70s/early 80s) and there's a lot of hidden gems tucked away on these records.
One track - Na Ernel - from a 2009 Cluster album Qua has an amazing jumping and glitching rhythm which sounds like the Cd is going awry.... but very subtly done. Quite mesmerising to listen to. The albums he made with Conny Plank were way ahead of their time too.
