hello fellow members - you may remember my chart contributions to the old-style VV site...?
anyway, i registered on this forum in order to contribute (and re-submit) some charts, now that (unfortunately in my opinion) they are no longer being featured on the main site.
however, when registered, i discovered i was a "geoff love". what was a "geoff love"? i guessed it was some kind of user status symbol, however i didn't want to be a "geoff love", given the choice, i wanted to be a "mandingo", or something a little bit cooler....
i wrote to the forum administrator on this, but didn't get a reply. so i had to register again with another pseudonym (see if you can guess which?) in order to work this conundrum out.
so somebody please correct me if i'm wrong, but i now believe "geoff love", "mandingo", etc relate to the number of "threads" left by the forum member??? and that this changes when you reach a certain number of threads???. based on the members list, it would seem thus:
"geoff love": 0-49 threads
"mandingo": 50-99 threads
"assagai": 100-499 threads
"manu dibango": 500-999 threads
"fela kuti": 1000-1499 threads
"mulatu astatke" 1500-1999 threads
"orlando julius" 2000+ threads
also: i'm not familiar with all the names here, but i guess that they relate to the credibility of afro-rock artists??
hopefully someone can confirm the above or otherwise, and that other naive members new to this don't have to spend sleepless nights pondering the same dilemma as i have...
