  • Percy Prescod dead?

I read on Waxi today that legendary UK jazz dealer Percy Prescod had died:

Also mentions on Ben's Records Facebook page and Instagram, but not much anywhere else:

Really sad news if that's the case. I didn't know him, but bought a few things when he sold outside the Jazz Cafe in the early 90's and then checked out his stall at Utrecht earlier this year.
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

I heard this a couple of days ago from a close family friend. Very sad indeed.

Sad news. I remember him from the Blue Monk days in Turnpike Lane. It was a tatty old place but he turned up amazing records and gave us all an education. R.I.P.

This is really sad. A total legend and one of the best human vinyl encyclopaedias out there. Thoughts go out to his family, Utrecht certainly won't be the same without him.
