  • NEW BOWIE

Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on Bowie's new offering

    I like it
    - - - -

Maybe its downbeat with depressing themes and technically imperfect vocals but it is an excellent example of a downbeat mix with depressing themes and technically imperfect vocals

It wont make me buy the album as I'm not a Bowie fan but I quite liked it. I like the loose drumming in the first part and the wind and horns throughout If he's releasing singles at 9.59 good on him. Cool video and he's rocking the grey look nicely.

Never know what he's on about, not that, that's a bad thing as some of my favourite artists have completely abstract lyrics.

Certainly preferred it to the last one, the Last/longest day or something?

I like Bowie. This is okay. I could do without the video. Like others I won't buy it. Unlike others I did like, and bought 'The Next Day'.

                  I really like it.

The drums are great, but I like the whole feel of it. The video is pish mind.

It's OK but I realise i listened to it a few days ago and haven't rushed back to listen again. I also bought The Next Day - part of the attraction being the cover, just a big nostalgia trip really ,and I haven't played it too many times in truth.
I too like Bowie - alot - I was hooked from the moment I saw Starman on TOTP.

I haven't played 'The Next Day' that much either, but to be honest I find I don't get a chance to play much that much these days. There's always something else coming through the door. It's not a very satisfactory state of affairs. I'm not as familiar with records I've bought as I've got older because there are too many to be familiar with. 'Hunky Dory' I know from start to finish because when I had it I probably only had about 5 other LPs. However much I like something now I'll never know it like I know those first records I bought- or, more accurately, got as birthday or Christmas presents because there was no way I could have afforded an LP. They weren't shrink-wrapped then either. Everything was better...hold me down someone I'm going nostalgia crazy.

Well I'd like to think I'm Everyman but my liking for pickled walnuts would suggest not.
