  • Question for anyone based in Stockport

I was very excited to hear that a Cambodian restaurant has opened in Marple, Stockport which sells used vinyl in the basement. Has anyone been here? What sort of stuff do they have?

Definitely will be heading in next time I'm back home visiting.

Gosh! My outlaws are in Romilley really close to Marple. Next time I'm up, I'll pop in.
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

It's only a few boxes at the mo (well it was when it first opened), all in nice nick but nothing particularly mind-blowing. Food is pretty scrumptious.

The food is enough reason to go for me. The records are just a really welcome bonus.

The salad was great, like som tam in thailand but not as spicy, what was strange is that there's a lot of french bread-based food on the menu!

I'm no gourmet, but I believe a French influence remains in Cambodian cuisine from colonial times.

Isn't a banh mi essentially a spicy meat sandwich on a baguette?
...if in doubt consult your dealer.

Yes. Needn't necessarily be meat but usually is, with some salad and herbs. Very common in Vietnam. I went through phase of making them this summer. Cambodian food (and I was only there for a short time) seems to be similar to both Thai and Vietnam which is hardly surprising.

I had a nosey in there today and got a couple of books (all paperbacks are £2 and there's a couple of big boxes to root through)

Annoyingly the only records that I was interested in weren't priced up and it's a bit of a faff contacting the owner if he's not there for a price!

ashra, you must go the extra mile!

i'm guessing that although this restaurant is cambodian, the rekkids aren't ...
