  • Specials drummer John 'Brad' Bradbury R.I.P

62 - no age. One of the first bands I truly loved. Met him a few years back.

No age at all, how very sad. RIP.

Don't think I've ever met anyone who doesn't like at least one 'Specials' tune.

I met him at the premiere of the 2 Tone film "Dance Craze" (won a ticket in a competition in Record Mirror). Along with Bedders from Madness he was the nicest person I met on the night and we had a little chat about "Sock It To 'Em JB Part II" being the first dub 45 (I had found a copy in a charity shop shortly after having read that The Specials were covering it on "More Specials). RIP.

How sad, The Specials were the band that got me into ska and reggae at the time.

          RIP Brad.

He studied at Hull College Of Art in the early/mid 70s where he was in a band with Henry Priestman (Yachts/Christians) - they notably supported a band called Addis & The Fliptops, itself featuring a young Wreckless Eric.
