  • howard blake?

Saw this in a shop: Howard Blake - Hammond in Percussion on Studio 2 Stereo.

Looked like it could be good...
Anyone know what it sounds like?

I had a copy. I don't recall it being anything special. I can't remember what it was like though. I think it's a bit early for anything funky if that's what you're after.

If it is the one with the James Bond theme on it it's worth picking up, but I wouldn't break the bank...

There are two, both with one track on: if I remember rightly, 'Hammond In Percussion' is the one with 'The Shark' on it, which is a nice hammond groover, well worth 50p or £1, but probably not much more. It turns up fairly often, especially in the mono Columbia pressing. The stereo studio2 one might be a little bit scarcer, but it remains a one tracker, really...

Worth it for cheap - great gunshot sound effects on it!

Blimey . Two fish-themed hammond groovers. I must pick this up..

Apart from the obvious Sole puns, what other fish-related tracks are worth picking up? I'm especially keen to hear about other freshwater fish which, I think, have been sadly neglected since Shubert's trout quintet. ... and if it was a sea trout, it hardly qualifies as a freshwater fish anyway.

I wouldn't bother with Marillion. or Chubby Brown.
