Forever Pavot main man Emile Sornin went for a wander around the Poitu-Charente region of France recording old/rare/obscure acoustic and electronic instruments. The result was a 9-track 7". Was showing as sold out earlier in the week, but it looks like there are a handful left, if you're quick. One per customer only! Tracks and half-hour film here...
According to the info on the page, each side is almost 40 minutes long ... isn't that going to sound shit?
i think well tuned piano on vinyl was the same - i only have the cd set so i dont know - but I think the consensus was it sounded good on vinyl - you just needed to turn amp up a bit.
i was humming and hahing over it having 80 mins on it but for the heavy chill then who wants to turn record over every 20 mins is my thoughts and for that reason i'm in
Chimptown, now twinned with Cockermouth, Penistone and Big Beaver, Pennsylvania..
Matthew Hallsall's 'Fletcher Moss Park' which was vinylized for the first time early last year, but soon sold out, has been pressed up again and should be available all over the place for a while.
Pre-order at the moment for one of the best examples of "freakbeat" you are never likely to find an og of. Was booted on one of those French Jukebox 45s. This is from the tapes. Edition of 450, out in April. Don't know if there will be any back story on the band with this release, they've always been a bit of a mystery. Surprising considering the racket they kicked up.

Linda Sharrock - In The Abyssity of The Grounds - Gods (Golden Lab)
Think this was released on 29 Feb, but nonetheless get in there - not for the faint hearted too be sure, but pretty essential if you like this sort of thing. Limited to 300, triple lp of heavy duty free jazz scraping and walrus bellowing monster sounds, with Linda Sharrock expressing herself along with the rest of the sounds, incredible!
some times play g+ with back noise, some times vg , super psyché juju lpfront sleeve is very nice vg back vg , but the top corne left is eating buy rats, ask for picture
300 only, contender for record of the year. Breathes new life into "empty streets" by the new life trio, amongst other triumphs. It's privately pressed and distributed, and it's marvellous. All the work of Lascelle Gordon.

Out in a few weeks anyway. Catchy, poppy little number from Perth groovy bunch with Razor Jack's usual twisty guitar. Big(ish) in Japan apparently. Vinyl ep.
