Is anyone familiar with this Library LP on Monparnasse ?
Is it as great as any of JN's other great Library LP's less
    say Rhythmes Contemporains ?

    I have a shot at a M-/M- copy for $77.00
Should I grab it is what I'm asking here ?

came across several Montparnass Janko nilovic library lp's but wasn't sure if they were worth the price....they were priced at $22 each. couldn't tell you which ones they were specifically, this is the first time i've actually had many library lp's to choose from one store.

        picked up:

        Middle East Suite/India (KPM 1183)
Richard Harvey - Unnatural Causes (KPM 1282)
Alden Shuman - The Devil In Miss Jones ost lp(got it for $20. is this a deal?)
Michel Legrand - The Thomas Crown Affair ost lp

Is the Richard Harvey any good?

Woodwinds on this one, or just keys?

i could give you some hints, but it depends what kind of Janko you're looking for...If you look for some MPC food, there's some numbers i could advice. If you look for listening pleasure only, i might direct you to ohter numbers and prices are usually a bit higher.

Anyway, i will put up some Janko's on MP2000 next month, and for cheap...Sorry for the spam, i know it's a bit rude. Ask The_Mack...i'm not a bad dude...lol.

I like it. it's a bit of everything....keys, some woodwinds and lots of orchestration.

gravy_boat, I forget which JN titles I saw. I think I may have come across 3 Montparnasse titles and quite a few KPM's. there were a few KPM's that looked like comtemporary shwag but in hindsight I think I may have accidentally put one back that had Francis Monkman on it. damn. I think I may go back tomorrow or next week.

the vocal impressions is great, bossa scat sounds so good. I think anything he touches is good, from what ive heard.

I'm inclined to agree with Mech1 about it - not to everyone's taste, I suspect, but it's good early 80s drama type music, probably the sort of thing The Sweeney would have used if it was still going in 1983!

Did Unnatural Causes vol 2 ever turn up on vinyl, or is it CD only?
