Just bumped into Shipton and he had heard rumours that Delay68 might be there, possibly even with the visiting Mahssa Taghinia. Oooooohhhhh.

So, Dammers, Godsy, Señor Trunk, FKers, VGPlussers and other shifty types. All in one room, doing vinyl and librarry things.

Record geekery doesn't come much tougher than this.

Book arrived yesterday.... I have been pawing through it with the same wow gee golly enthusiasm as i had as a lad going through the littlewoods catalogue. A job well done mister Jonny. This was what the coffee table was made for

Will have to save some pennies for the deluxe edition.

Incredible book! Prize purchase! And a worthy upgrade from the original issue. B.I.N.
Also loving the Rich Hero - Richard Gibbons credit in the alias section #intentional?
Made me a bit VV homesick, hope I can get a pass out for the party!

nice one Ian, also worth pointing out that at the same time and in the same place as the Indy Record Fayre, it's the Indy Beer Fayre!!! So lovingly made LPs, lovingly crafted ale all at the same time, it gets no better and also a bit mental after lunch.

And here is the library book ten inch tracklist for bionic boy:

    Nymphe - Roland Kovac
    Soft Wind - Gary Pacific
    Playmate - Rolf Kuehn
    Survivor - Klaus Weiss

    Image: Brian Bennett
    Mini Walking - Johnny Pearson
    Spring Bossa - James Clarke
    Underlying Expectancy - John Cameron

Basically some classic porn (Rockin' With Seka - Survivor) some Carpenter (Spring Bossa used in Dark Star), some Sweeney (Underlying Expectancy), you get the idea.

    Ace!....
And you have reminded me about the Independent Record label fair too...so that shifts it from 'Ace!' to...
    'Awesome!'
I've now negotiated to be at that Independent Record Fair for the day...so there's a subtle shift to
    'Excited'
I've also decided a day at a Record Fair, especially an 'Independent' one; the air thick with hustling, entrepreneurial hormones, means I really, really need to take my camera along and photograph the label owners with records, record collectors looking at records, their shoes walking them to those records whilst wearing bad T-shirts with record labels on, plastic bags, dogs, burgers. So I'm now officially
    'Sexually aroused'

This is going to be JUST THE BEST DAY EVER!

Who else is going? Holler! And make sure you damn well do something with your hair/s cos you WILL be photographed and I will then exercise my freedom to post the best pics here.

btw, the numbered special edition with slipcase, special mailer features and ten inch features a heap of fine library music from KPM and Selected Sound. Tracks include Image, Survivor, Mary Mungo And Midge. £800+ if you wnated to buy the originals. Hell yeah!

I get it Korova, records, books, everything is expensive and we all have to use our hard earned money to buy food, rent, pay for kids blah blah blah, so when a larger than expected obsession-based postal bill comes along we all react. I just paid $22 for a shit LP (and more than likely really shit international packaging too) from the USA. I now hate myself. And yes, the book is ace. I'd say sexy too.

There is no profit put on the book postage at all, it is all at cost. The book is heavy, hardback and large - ten inches by ten inches and at 248 pages thick, hence the honest postal charges. Johnny I was the first to mention the postage costs and I'm sorry if it came across harshly, my point was just that I'd factored £8 p&p in my budget (tracked) and so I'd have to forgo the purchase. I understand the 2kg limit so its understandable, good luck with the book it looks great from the photos.

Also, and I think this is worth pointing out, this book has taken ages and has cost oodles to produce. And when Amazon comes along to stock the book they want 40% off the dealer price (not the retail price, the dealer price, which is any profit you may make gone) so they can give buyers free postage, which is actually a cost that is added on to the dealer price their end once they have secured their massive discount. Bastards all of them. I'll shut up now.
