Dave Swarbrick RIP

Gutted to open the paper and see this sad news. A fan since the mid '70s, I saw some wonderful performances of the pixie faced virtuoso, always with a fag (sometimes a more exotic version) hanging from his lip, both with Fairport & Simon Nicol and Martin Carthy. He was hilarious too, always lit up a room/ field. A great, sympathetic player and an absolute joy to witness.
Unfortunately, this time it's true. Dammit!

He crops up on everything. Little part on the 'Al Stewart - Past Present & Future' album I played last night. I forget now who gifted it me but it was a real solid listen, had a couple of plays already. RIP, got a feeling I'm going to be saying that more this year than last which was bad enough.
