I'm sorting out the PA and music for a Wedding do for friends in a few weeks time. Its just going to be a collection of songs in one folder and played on shuffle as I'm no DJ but it worked well at my wedding. That time I just threw a load of soul/funk comps, dance tracks etc into a folder and it all worked out rather well, got compliments for weeks.
Anyway I'm under strict instructions this time for some of the music, kind of eighties vibe for that stuff various bands most none too bad really but I'm pretty much left to my own devices for the rest. I was told nothing self-indulgent then told I must play Pink Floyd post Syd, so no irony there. Anyway I think 'Money' and whatever else I can find that's not depressing as hell under 10 minutes should cover that. Not that I was going to go down a jazz, prog route anyway and I don't consider any of that self indulgent anyway, grrrr, so they will get 'Gigolo Aunt' slipped in there for that
.
Anyway my question is anyone got any ideas for any great psyche/soul/funk dance floor fillers, bangers that aint too obviously whacked out I can slip in, all suggestions welcome, building up quite a list but some of you peeps have first hand knowledge of the dancefloor so any suggestions welcome as long as its not too long.
Oh the age range will be from 0 - 80 but mostly 25-40 odd I would say.
