Farewell Bobby. There's about 10 jazz LPs that I always go back to, San Francisco is one of them...

Poor old Bob. What a hairstyle. I like his playing in the middle of this version of 'Naima'- the whole piece has a real dreamy quality about it and when John Handy drops out about 4 minutes in, leaving it to the others it becomes almost weightless. I can picture them all floating off the studio floor and through the roof.

Sad news. I dj'ed after a jazz concert at The Standard in CPH last year and drummer Alvin Queen came over and talked after. When I played Hutch he said he wasn't well.

Sad to hear. I must have a about a dozen of his albums. My claim to fame is meeting him and chatting over his vibes for ages about bluenote, his recordings etc. It was after a show at the short-lived jazz venue in islington in the early 90s – might have been called the 'Rhythmic' (Freddie Hubbard etc played there too). My enduring memory was that he seemed very humble and just a nice bloke. RIP

Just seeing what videos to post and half don't seem to be available...

That last track title isn't 'Procession', it's 'Jazz'

Indeed - sad news and news I missed while away in Italy.

Proteus has already posted my favourite BH track "theme from blow up", so here's my second favourite:
